Quiet matters stay until you deal with them

Activity ages out once you have seen it. A matter going quiet does not, because seeing it is not the same as handling it - it keeps appearing, with the day count climbing, until you act or dismiss it.

A quiet day still gets an email

One line: nothing new since your last brief. An empty inbox would leave you wondering whether Cedent had stopped working, which is worse than a short email.
